Garfield Gini-Newman provides an overview of the Critical Thinking Consortium (TC2) approach to embedding critical thinking into teaching and learning. Three types of questions are identified: factual; opinion or emotional; critical inquiry. Critical inquiry questions require judgments and can provide the basis for thesis statements.
